The Department introduced spoken-word artist, musician, and thought leader Sophia Thakur to MINI in 2022, where Sophia wrote a bespoke poem to bring MINI’s New Family vehicles to life. It was from there that they started to build a flourishing partnership.

In 2023, Sophia became an official MINI ambassador, and has appeared at multiple events; performing her poetry live at Munich’s Sugar Mountain, working with our composer Des Lambert, and at Lovecraft during IAA for a public reveal.
